Our
Charter Boats
In designing
our sport charter vessels, we used our more than 20 years of experience
charter fishing to design charter boats matched to the demands of Alaskan
waters and to the challenges of Alaskan fishing.
In addition
to ensuring plenty of room to fish easily with extensive rear decks
and the ability to fish from the entire perimeter of the boat, we focused
on making the trip to and from the fishing grounds speedy and comfortable.
The Adventuress,
new in 2002, is powered by twin Volvo diesels with 520 horsepower. Our
newest vessel, The Huntress
is powered by twin Volvo D-6 diesels with 620 horsepower. We have two
of the fastest charter fishing boats in the fleet:
“Less time running means more time fishing!”
While most
charter boats provide a marine suspension seat for the comfort of the
captain, we are the only charter company in Seward with marine suspension
seating under every seat in the cabin, promising a softer, more comfortable
ride to our prime fishing spots. Both vessels also feature heated cabins
and enclosed standing marine heads.
Although
fishing is important, safety is our utmost priority. Our vessels are
annually and thoroughly inspected from stem to stern by the United States
Coast Guard. Not only do the vessels have to pass rigorous structural
and functional evaluation, the crew must annually demonstrate to the
USCG their competence in at-sea testing on “man overboard”,
life raft launching, and other safety procedures.
Both charter
boats have state-of-the-art electronics, including top-of-the-line Simrad
components: dual color fishfinder and fathometer, radar, GPS marine
electronics, and VHF and CB radios – the finest equipment to get
us to and from the fishing grounds safely and to put us on the most
prolific fishing spots.
Both The
Adventuress and The Huntress are 36-foot fiberglass sport charter fishing
vessels with raised pilothouses. The Adventuress carries mixed-party
groups of 8 to 10 people, while The Huntress, a wider vessel, carries
up to twelve. With either of our boats, you will experience the room
and comfort of a larger vessel, but with the intimacy of the smaller
“six-pack” charter boat.
